Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the editorial team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Oversee the acquisition and development of new titles and content focused on children's literature and educational resources, including managing intellectual property rights and licensing agreements.
- Develop and implement editorial strategies that align with the organization's mission and objectives.
- Ensure all published content adheres to high editorial standards and captivates our target audience.
- Collaborate with other teams, such as translation, design, and technology, as well as contributors, to enhance the quality and diversity of our offerings.
- Monitor industry trends to identify new opportunities for content creation and thematic exploration.
- Effectively manage editorial schedule, budget, and workflow processes, demonstrating proven ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to editorial staff, promoting their professional growth and development.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Publishing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in editorial and publishing roles, with a focus on children's literature.
- Proven track record in content acquisition and project management.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Passion for literature and a commitment to promoting reading among children and young adults.
- Familiarity with digital publishing platforms and current trends in the literary market.
